The Sheffield City Region Job Board is a new state-of-the-art facility that enables recruiting organisations to post their vacancies online.  The Board is a joint initiative between Sheffield City Region; the 9 local authorities that make up the City Region and TribePad, a Sheffield-based software company, specialising in bespoke recruitment sites for some major names like the BBC; KFC and Tesco (see www.tribepad.com).

Recent changes to Google algorithms mean that geographic and sector-specific websites will start to move much higher up the rankings than the generic sites such as Total Jobs etc. and this is an issue that the Job Board is seeking to address.

The idea is that it is an additional recruitment tool, we’re not saying ‘don’t use other sites’ or ‘avoid using recruitment agencies’ – rather it is an additional mechanism at your disposal.

Each company that has vacancies creates their own landing page (to include imagery / brief outline of the company / what it’s like to work for them and current vacancies) with a link (if required, to their own website). See a few examples below:

Organisations wishing to post vacancies go through a simple registration process and are then granted admin rights to be able to edit their landing page and post / delete / amend their own vacancies.

The Sheffield City Region Job Board is available to all recruiting organisations based within the region, irrelevant of size or sector. We hope that this platform will become the ‘go to’ place for organisations to post vacancies, and for candidates to find relevant positions.

How do organisations sign up?

The signup process is quick and easy, completing just a few fields including email address and organisation name. Organisations are required to create their landing page before posting any vacancies. A detailed ‘How To Guide’ is contained within the dedicated help section which becomes available upon registration, and there is a dedicated email address to raise any queries that you may have support@thejobspace.com
